My friend text me this from his work updating me he saw my car on the move!
Well, picked up a hand me down vehicle that has been sitting at my childhood home for some years. The transmission went bad, but the engine runs rather well. This ‘88 Sierra will be donating parts to my hearse and then to the Fleetline. Yes, this is where you realize I’m not building a traditional hotrod.
Poor Eddie spent two days and a lot of money tracking down and getting a new fan for his ‘52 Pickup Rachel.. all the while I owned one hidden in the junk that came with my car. He wasn’t sure he should laugh or cry.
So, with replacement tires from the trunk my boys replaced the shredded tires. The lugs were so damn tight Eddie needed help, but my Sasquatch friend was too tall, so he helped with a pipe.
This is what Sev’s cab looked like after pulling the insulation and sweeping the dust and muck away. By no means is it ‘clean’ but it does clear away the distraction to give a better idea what I’m working with. The floors look to be the biggest problem, especially in the trunk (as one would expect.)
Severus is a 1948 Fleetline project that my sister and I are planning on building. I have a 1948 Fleetline sedan, but may switch to an Aerosedan.
